I started using the Pinterest web site as a design tool to gather inspiration and build mood boards for design projects. As a designer I’m always looking to make things simple and clear, even my tools. When I started using Pinterest as a tool (rather than a passive entertainment activity for eye candy) I couldn’t help but tweak the UI a little.
I wanted to focus on the images without the extra info and tags so I made Pinterest an image-only interface. The extra info for each pin shows on mouse hover.
