Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy was last modified on June 23, 2026.
Bentley HQ LLC (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the website https://bentleyhq.com (the “Site”) and BentleyHQ Finance, a private, single-operator financial tool that connects to your financial accounts in read-only mode to produce bookkeeping, cash-flow, and debt-paydown analysis (the “Service”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information we receive from users of the Site and the Service.
By using the Site or the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Financial Account Data (BentleyHQ Finance)
This section describes how the Service handles financial account information. It governs over the general Site sections below wherever the two differ.
What we access. When you link a financial account, we access, on a read-only basis:
- Account identifiers and balances (checking, savings, and similar deposit accounts);
- Transaction history (amounts, dates, descriptions, and categories);
- Credit-card and loan liability details (such as APR, minimum payment, and due date).
We request only the data needed for bookkeeping, cash-flow forecasting, and debt-paydown analysis. We never initiate payments, transfers, or any movement of money — the Service has no payment or transfer capability and cannot move funds.
How we connect — Plaid. We use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to securely connect to your financial institutions and retrieve the data above. By linking an account, you also agree to Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. Plaid handles your credentials directly; we do not see or store your bank login credentials.
Accounting data — Intuit QuickBooks Online. Where you connect QuickBooks Online, we read accounting ledger and report data on a read-only basis for reconciliation and reporting. We do not write to, or modify, your QuickBooks data.
How the data is used and processed. Financial data is used solely to provide the Service to you: to reconcile records, forecast cash flow, and produce a debt-paydown plan. To generate this analysis, data is processed by AI models provided by Anthropic, PBC (“Anthropic”) acting as our processor. Anthropic processes the data to return analysis to us and does not use it to train its models. We do not sell your financial data, and we do not share it with any third party other than the service providers named here (Plaid, Intuit, and Anthropic) acting on our behalf to provide the Service, or as required by law.
Storage and security. Financial data is stored locally on an encrypted (full-disk) device. Access credentials and connection tokens are held in the operating system’s encrypted credential store, never in plain files, code, or logs. Access requires authenticating to the operator’s device.
Retention. We retain financial data only as long as needed to provide the Service — to maintain the bookkeeping record and ongoing forecasting — and delete it when it is no longer needed for those purposes or upon your request.
Your choices — disconnecting and deletion. You may disconnect a linked account or request deletion of your financial data at any time by contacting us (see Contact Us). On disconnection or a deletion request, we revoke the account connection and delete the associated stored data.
Information Collection and Use (Site)
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, postal address, and phone number (“Personal Information”). We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site and the Service.
Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Like many sites, we use cookies to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.
Security
The security of your information is important to us. We protect financial data with full-disk device encryption and an encrypted system credential store, restrict access to the operator, and connect to financial institutions through Plaid so that account credentials are not exposed to us. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure; while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our Site may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.
